The Awards Gala
The ILEA Vancouver Gala Awards recognizes excellence among the ILEA Vancouver membership. The Awards Gala was held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 in Vancouver, BC, Canada with over 120 guests in attendance. The inaugural ILEA LIVE Ambassador was introduced on this evening.

We managed to sit down with Sharon and ask her a few questions:
Why you would be the BEST ILEA Vancouver Ambassador at ILEA LIVE?
Because I am outgoing, fun, and member since 2001 who loves to talk. I think that the Ambassador has to be able to chat with everyone about how great ILEA Vancouver is and also why belonging to ILEA is critical to their business.
I am not shy and love meeting new people.
What will you do to make the Vancouver delegates shine?
I will focus on how great they are and why customers should use their product or service. When I am in Denver, I will do 2 things:
#1 – I will make sure to take a selfie with each one of the delegates in attendance and then promote them through my social media channels. This selfie has to be fun and make people laugh!
#2 – I will also record a short video on Facebook LIVE with the delegate so that I can send out real time promotions about how great the Vancouver delegate is.
What do you hope to get out of ILEA LIVE?
There are two things that I hope to get out of ILEA LIVE. Number one is to learn more about technology and events. I feel like this is the future of successful events.
Number 2 is that I want to broaden my network of contacts to include Europe. I am going to network with as many people as I can so that I can nurture relationships with other members with the hope of one day meeting them.
How will attending ILEA LIVE better your contribution to ILEA Vancouver and your business/career?
As I said, I am most excited to learn about the future of technology at events and how we can improve the customer experience to connect people at the event with those not at the event. Social media is a huge method to promote the customer experience at the event, and I am really looking forward to learning more.
Any parting thoughts?
I am always on the hunt for event trends and new unique décor concepts. I personally love adding a creative theme to an event, and enjoy learning how others successfully incorporated a theme into their event.
