What’s New - The latest special event production news from Bright Ideas Event Agency.

Innovative enterprise of the yeat

Join us in this two-part blog series where we reflect on 2021 and share what event producers are looking forward to for 2022. With the world looking a little different these past 22 months, we could not produce our usual in-person events as we have done so for the past 33 years. So the Bright Ideas team got creative and innovative and decided to tackle 2021 with a bright mindset!

Spring 2021

We started the year by focusing on growing the skills of our event producer team. In an industry that is always changing and evolving, it is important to stay relevant to the current trends and technologies. That’s why CEO Sharon Bonner participated in a four-month program to earn her VEMM (Virtual Event Meetings & Management) certification at the Events Leadership Institute in March.

In April 2021, Biz Bash Canada announced that Sharon made the list of one of the TOP 250 Most Influential Event Professionals in Canada. As a Vancouver event producer it was touching to receive this type of distinction and recognition. Later in April, Sharon represented Vancouver in the Greenest City in Canada for Events Competition as Vancouver’s Earth Day Champion.

Summer 2021

A few months after earning her VEMM certification, Sharon produced a highly successful virtual corporate retreat in June. At this event, guests enjoyed an extremely interactive and competitive day at a virtual tropical resort. Check out some of our favorite moments from the virtual corporate retreat in this blog post!

A very special project that Sharon has been working on this year is the creation of Caring Connections Cards. Caring Connections is a way to connect the events community through high end event stationery and cards. Early in 2020, Sharon saw a growing need to connect with clients and event professionals, thus Caring Connections Cards was created. In August, Caring Connections Cards launched by sponsoring ILEA Canada in four cities across Canada – Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary. Fall 2021

The fall brought exciting times when in October our team produced a Hybrid event at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver. We worked with our client to produce the Dr. Rogers Prize Gala and turned this bi-annual event into a successful hybrid event. Check out more from this hybrid event in this blog post!

2021 ended with a bang in November as we became a finalist for a Business Excellence Award.  Later in November, Sharon and the BIEA was announced as the winner of Innovative Enterprise of the Year. Since 1977, The Business Excellence Awards have honored the outstanding achievements of Richmond businesses through the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. It was an honor to be recognized for our team’s hard work and achievements.

Thank you to all industry professionals, clients, and individuals who helped make 2021 a memorable year! Wondering what 2022 will have in store!? Join us next week as we take a look at 2022 and what the year has in store for this team of Vancouver event producers!
