In some ways, creating a spectacular event is the easy part. With the right budget and a talented event producer, amazing results are a simple matter of careful planning and execution. However, getting people to show up can be the real challenge. Without an effective marketing effort it can be difficult to build the ‘buzz’ before the event that ensures a full guest list and lots of positive comments after it’s over. But, don’t despair. There are proven techniques to ensure you optimize the return on your event budget – by maximizing attendance and making it easy to follow up. Here’s what you can do:
Theme events continue to be one of the most popular ways to engage and entertain guests. But to get the most from your theme, it must be reflected in every aspect of the event. As an example, Bright Ideas created themed invitations for our Groovy BBQ theme event. From the outset the invited guests could see that creativity and fun were going to be a big part of the event.
The event was well-attended, guests really got into the fun, and our client was delighted with the results. Skip the boring invites. Set the stage for fun at the outset and your guests will arrive ready to embrace the theme.
Here is a look at five of our top winning events:
Have a green thumb? Guests got the chance to show off their planting skills at the Annual Client Appreciation Picnic held at the Brock House in Vancouver. After selecting their own personal basket & decorating it with their creative flair, guests “shopped” for plants to add to their basket. Adorable gardening sets were awarded to the top 3 baskets. What a great way to be Green!
Guests were treated to a complete 1950’s experience with Antique Cars, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Creative 1950 Crafts & Activities and Old Fashioned Sundaes.
A beautifully packaged box of nostalgic 1950’s Candy was awarded for the best dressed female and male. The hit of the party; decorating your own Cat Eye Glasses & Chiffon Scarves.
Imagine yourself in 1960, surrounded by lots of far out, fun loving people wearing hippy costumes, peace sunglasses and afro wigs. The guests at this client appreciation were indeed “Feeling Groovy”! The event featured Austin Powers, Tie-Dye Tattoos, Far Out Frisbees, Psychedelic Glad Rags, Funky Photo Booth and Flower Power Cake Pops as treats. Psychedelic linens adorned the guest tables accompanied by customized centre pieces illustrating the “Feeling Groovy” brand. Everyone had an awesome time!
When you produce a special event for industry insiders, it had better be good. Bright Ideas rose to the occasion for the International Special Events Society annual event. Stunning body painted entertainers, sumptuous décor, a wide variety of culinary delights, and attention to every detail ensured Bright Ideas went home with the trophy for the Best Event Design!
Groovy baby! That’s what guests thought of our “Spy Who Shagged Me” event at the ISES Buffet Blowout. Mod fashions, 60s style décor, afro wigs for one and all, an Austin Powers-impersonator, and a menu of delicious tributes to the movie, from Fat Bastard Ribs to Mojo Juice had guests digging the scene so much that the Bright Ideas Shag Shack took home the People’s Choice Award!
