Social media is a great way to help not only market your event, but also create a viral buzz around your company’s event.

During your event, create ways for participants to share pictures and comments, with options such as a fun photo booth and wireless Internet capability. Encourage guests to tweet and post their pictures with comments of your event on their favourite social media channels.

Consider integrating an event ‘hashtag’ (example: #yourevent) into your marketing material, and encourage guests to use that hashtag while sharing pictures on various social media channels. This is particularly effective for public events such as product launches and customer appreciation events. All it takes is a prominent guest with lots of followers to tweet or post a picture and you’ve really expanded the reach of your event. It might even encourage people to check out your event in person. Cheap, easy, and effective!
