With a track record of 42 Industry Nominations garnering 35 Industry Awards, Bright Ideas Events is one of the top Event Producers in Canada. Aside from winning multiple national and regional awards, including the Canadian Special Events Reader’s Choice Award for Favorite Event Producer in Vancouver and Canada in the same year, we have had the privilege of producing various high profile events in Western Canada over the past three decades.

The NorLand Black & White Ball

Our event design and layout incorporated the important elements of our event goals, and then delivered them in a way that was fun, imaginative and inviting, so that guests would be drawn into exploring all sections of the house. The Lord of the House and his flock of actors, perfectly added just the right touches of fun that were woven together with core values from our client. We had created a prestigious and welcoming atmosphere for the guests, so that they really did feel as if they were all family at the NorLand 30th Anniversary Family Reunion. We sent out a survey after the event and received top marks from all guests in attendance. They rated every aspect of the event as a 10/10!

A NorLand Christmas Carol Celebration

We designed our own European Village to support the London setting in the movie. Our client wanted the event to focus on the traditional aspects of Christmas and we wove them into our seating plan, décor design, menu planning, activities and entertainment. We established our event design by incorporating the important elements of the event goals, and then set about delivering it in a way that was fun, imaginative and inviting, so that guests would be drawn into exploring all sections of the village. Scrooge and his flock of actors, perfectly added just the right elements from the movie and woven together with core values from our client, it was perfect.

British Secret Garden 

To showcase the new building, we established our event design, and then set about delivering it in a way that was enticing so that even corporate executives would be drawn into exploring the whole building. Our Secret Garden Girls, stunningly beautiful creatures that were a combination of butterflies and flowers, some supporting wings, encouraged guests to experience the entire building. A custom-designed boxwood ‘Midnight Dessert Maze’ covering 4,000 square feet with a secret center carried guests on a self-guided tour of the space.

Diamonds Are Forever

Here the elegance of the colour scheme and décor continued, with four more chandeliers and glittering crystal columns providing illumination and serving as a focal point in the whole area. Custom gobos projected event branding onto drape walls and snowflakes onto the floor. Bond movies were projected on a big screen.

1920’s Soiree

As with all theme events, first impressions are important. Guests arriving at the Twenties Soiree were greeted by a customized archway in gold and black, with the company name emblazoned in gold and black on a 12 foot wide sign, and flanked by black drape for added elegance. Damask gobos dappled both the floor and the room draping, cocktail tables dressed in black with gold metal tea lights offered areas for socializing, and black ostrich feather vignettes in tall gold sparkle vases continued our theme of 1920s elegance.

The Great Gatsby Gala

At the entrance to the venue, a stunning arrangement of beautifully lit golden twig vases with red ostrich feathers and surrounding boas previews the Twenties glamour awaiting within. Inside, a shimmering scene of sophistication. The spacious room glows, with white draping and flower arrangements, vases filled with gel pearls, and cocktail lamps. Lighting effects and projections shine amidst candelabras and mirror tiles.

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland included a winter scene complete with dozens of flocked fresh trees, falling snow, ice bars, sparkling white birch trees and snowflake gobos.  We even had Jack Frost in attendance!

Oktoberfest Celebration

Guests were greeted by costumed actors in Lederhosen as they entered the venue which had been transformed to resemble a Festhalle setting. German beer tasting stations surrounded a flowing cast iron fountain in the Platz. Guests were amazed at the 24’ ribbon ring which was suspended above the stage where a German band belted out authentic Oktoberfest songs. Other hits in the evening were the tapping of the Keg, Edelweiss dancers, horn blower and of course the tasty German cuisine.

High Seas Celebration

Guests visited 3 Ports of Call during the evening and experienced cuisine and entertainment from Mexico, Greece and Jamaica. Each buffet transitioned to the Port of Call destination with costumed servers and ethnic food of the country.

Wild Wild West

A Western town featured Klondike-era entertainment with dancing girls and casino games, a wide variety of foods, from dainty finger food, to finger licking good BBQ dishes, all surrounded by décor to recreate an authentic looking wild west town complete with storefronts, boardwalks, wagon wheels and hay bales.
